Crochet Mug Cozy {Free Pattern}
Materials:
Size H hook
Medium weight {4} yarn - I use Vanna's Choice
Finished size approximately 12 inches long
Abbreviations:
Chain (ch)
Stitch/Stitches (st/sts)
Slip Stitch (ss)
Chain (ch)
Stitch/Stitches (st/sts)
Slip Stitch (ss)
Foundation: Chain 11
Row 1: sc in first chain from hook and each chain across, turn. (10 sc)
Row 2: ch 1, sc in first sc and in each across, turn. (10 sc)
Repeat row 2 until piece measures approximately 10 inches long.
Do not chain 1 at end of row.
Starting on the “neck”:
ss in next 2 stitches, chain 1, sc in next 6 sc, leave last 2 sc stitches unworked, turn.
*Chain 1, sc in each sc across, turn.* (6 sc)
Repeat from * to * for one more row.
Button Hole:
Chain 1, sc in next 2 sts, chain 2, skip next 2 sts, sc in last 2 sts, turn.
Chain 1, sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in chain 2 space, sc in last 2 sts.
Finishing:
Continue to evenly single crochet around whole piece using 2 sc in each outside corner
stitch.
Join with a slip stitch and fasten off. Weave in ends.
Measure around mug and sew on button of your choice where it meets the button hole.
These would be cute for Valentines Day with a little crochet heart sewn on it. Here's a pattern for one if you need it.
