Free Crochet Pattern | Patriotic Barefoot Sandals

Here's another take on the barefoot sandals for the 4th of July. You can find the free pattern here.

Here is how I made this patriotic pair:

I used the F hook but only had weight 4 yarn {Vanna's Choice} so for the toe loop I did 8 instead of 10 and for the ankle strap I did 18 instead of 20 and it fit Bug just fine.

I started with red for the toe loop and the 2sc, then switched colors each round. I used the method of changing colors where you crochet the ends into the piece so there was minimal weaving in ends. You can see my YouTube video of that here.

For the flower I cut out small flower shapes of blue felt. I sewed the white petal strips with thread although embroidery thread would have been better. I just didn't have white on hand. I used a small brad I had stashed away in my scrapbooking supplies and voila! A cute pair of Red, White & Blue barefoot sandals.

Happy 4th to all my US peeps!
