Egg Carton Christmas Tree Ornament

I love trimming the tree with ornaments made by my little one, don't you? Here's an easy ornament for the kiddos to make for gifts or for your tree!

Materials:
Egg Cartons (cut), scissors, ribbon, small bells, blunt needle and paints.
(Optional: pom poms, buttons, other small decorations)

What to do:

Paint your three cut up egg carton sections. {we started out clean...then...well, not so clean!) When dry, poke a small hole at the top of each.

Cut a long piece of ribbon. Thread the bell to the center and make a knot about 1-1 1/2" above the bell.

Using a blunt needle, thread the first egg carton section through.

Now make another knot above the first carton section.

Thread through the second carton. It should be positioned a little above the first. (as seen in photo above) Repeat for the 3rd carton section.

We did this next part after threading (so we didn't knock any decorations off in the process) but you can do yours before if you want.

Using the end of a paintbrush, decorate your tree ornament with dots. You can also use pom poms, buttons...anything your heart desires!

Isn't it cute?!

Oh, and if you or your child has made an ornament, please come on by and link it up to our DIY Ornament Link Party!
