Coffee Shop Pretend Play | Coffee & Cream Play Dough Recipes

What do you get when you mix pretend play with play dough? Hours of imaginative, sensory play fun! We opened up a coffee shop and I got served cup after cup of my favorite drink all day long (and it smelled great too).

You can get the recipe for Mocha Play Dough here from Frogs and Snails and Puppy Dog Tails.

To make the "French Vanilla" dough, I quartered the play dough recipe found on the Nurture Store site here. To create the scent, you can either use coffee creamer in place of the water (that's what I did) or you can add a tsp of vanilla to the water (or another scent).

Once the dough has cooled, give each child a ball of each along with a coffee/tea cup and some play dough tools. I also cup up some black straws to make "coffee stirrers".
