You only need a few materials for this pot of gold craft. It's super easy to make in time for St. Patrick's Day.
- Paper Plate
- Black Paint
- Markers (one for each color of the rainbow)
- Cut Outs from our Printable
- Gold and Green Glitter Paper (or print the color copy/color it yourself)
- Glue Stick or School Glue
- Scissors, Paintbrush, Smock, Pencil
Let's get started, shall we?
Cut your paper plate as shown below. Trace your gold pieces onto gold glitter paper and your shamrock onto the green glitter paper and cut them out. Of course you can color the pieces yourself if you don't have colored paper.
Using your markers (or paint, or crayons) color a rainbow on the top half of your paper plate as shown below.
Paint the bottom half black (or use markers/crayons). Let it dry.
Once the paint is dry, use glue to glue on your gold pieces and the shamrock. Glue the long gold piece to the back of the plate so it gives the appearance that it is inside the pot. Glue three gold coins on each side of the rainbow. Add the shamrock to the pot. (see photo below)
This is how we made ours. Feel free to let your child lead the project and create it in their own way.
